21st Amendment – Brew Free or Die IPA

Published On July 28, 2015 | By Stephen Rubke | Anything Beer, Beer Reviews

Continuing on my patriotic theme with yet another beer from 21st Amendment, it’s Brew Free or Die IPA. This is probably one of 21st Amendment’s most popular beers, and is widely available in stores in the Bay Area.

It’s popularity shouldn’t be very surprising, it’s the kind of IPA that doesn’t punch you in the face with hops. They’re there, and there’s no mistaking this beer’s proper category, but Brew Free or Die is extremely diplomatic in its flavor profile. Very easy to drink and packs a decent punch at 7%.
I like to describe beers like this as “gateway beers” because you could easily give this to a casual drinker as an introduction to craft beer. In light of all that, I wish I could love this more than I do. It’s good, but not a craft beer legend. 3.5/5.

i, I'm Stephen. I'm an airline pilot and reformed beer drinker. Born and raised in southern California and lived the last half of my life in the SF Bay Area. I like sports cars with clutch pedals, airplanes, and both college and pro football. I spent most of my 20's drinking High Life and Rolling Rock, but was shamed into beer snobbery by the woman who would become my wife. Currently I enjoy travelling around the country and searching out the local beers. Cheers!
